Typescript Support

Using Rider EAP:

Rider 1.0 EAP
Build #RS-163.10479, built on December 19, 2016
Rider EAP User
Expiration date: January 18, 2017
JRE: 1.8.0_112-release-408-b2 amd64
JVM: OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM by JetBrains s.r.o

I can't seem to be able to compile typescript files.  Webstorm support the node & javascript plugins and the use of tsconfig.json.  I can't find anything similar in Rider.

I can add a TS file,  but it never compiles.  This happens with a new web application, just adding a simple TS file to wwwroot/js with an exported enum never gives the corresponding JS file.

What am I missing here to get this working?  Without this I'm still working dotnet core projects in VS2015.

Jeremy.

Same here. I just installed the latest EAP. The editor works great, but it does not compile. I installed Typescript through Nuget so I know the compiler is there.

We will definitely address this case in Rider, but for now it is only possible to make it work with some manual configuration

1. install the File Watcher plugin

2. download tsc (typescript compiler)

3. setup FileWatcher to call tsc as here https://blog.jetbrains.com/webide/2013/03/file-watchers-in-webstormphpstorm-6-a-k-a-background-tasks/
