Rider 2023.2.2 -- Message "Windows Forms Designer is not supported for projects targetting .NET (Core)”
Hello
When I create a Windows Forms App project, I can't use the designer. I always get the message: “Windows Forms Designer is not supported for projects targetting .NET (Core)”
For the record, I'm using Visual Studio 17.7.5 on the same computer.
Thanks for your feedback.

Hello Jean-Louis,
Thank you for contacting Rider support.
Regrettably, Windows Forms designer is not supported for .Net Core in Rider. It is only supported for .Net Framework at the moment. We have the following feature request on our tracker: Support WinForms Designer for .NET Core. We would appreciate it if you could upvote it to demonstrate your interest.
Meanwhile, you might want to try this workaround shared by Maarten in the comments section.
Should you have any other questions or difficulties, please tell me.
Have a nice day!
Well why did they skip this feature? I mean I just cannot fathom why? If they did add it Rider will beat Visual Studio almost immediately, and imagine if they added a XAML designer, that would be insane.
Hello,
We have already made a huge work in terms of Windows Forms designer and continue actively working on it. We hope to deliver this feature soon. Please watch the issue for further updates (RIDER-58357 Support WinForms Designer for .NET Core).
Stay tuned and have a nice day!
