AI Assistant trial ended popup keeps appearing

I have tried the AI Assistant tool and I have decided to not make use of the feature at this time. Every day, I get a popup telling me the trial is over and I need to go to the activation page. It is annoying to have to close the popup every time, but when I choose close, Rider is closed as if I don't have a license to use Rider, which is very unpleasant.

I would expect something like:

- ‘Thanks, I am not interested at the moment’ followed by a: you can always get license for the feature here and here. This will never trigger the popup again

- ‘Activate AI’ which will take you to the steps to activate

- ‘Close’ closes the popup and you can let it pop up the next day, that's fine

Which version of Rider and AI Assistant are you using?
Could you please share a screen recording that shows the behavior in your IDE? I tried, but couldn't reproduce it on my end. You can upload the file(s) here: https://uploads.jetbrains.com, and provide the uploaded file ID. Thanks!

Thank you for the screenshots. We tried to reproduce it on our end, but couldn't. It looks like it is not a generic issue.
Could you please share your IDE logs too (Help > Collect Logs and Diagnostic Data), via the same portal: https://uploads.jetbrains.com.? It would help us analyze your environment and possibly track down some errors/exceptions related to the issue. Thanks.

Hi Ivan, thanks for looking into the issue.

I have included the logs here: 2024_02_14_8EQ26dxFx87Pi3TgvsLeoY

Unfortunately, the shared archive contains an empty idea.log file. Could you please try again to upload it? Or just upload this file - Help > Diagnostic Tools > Show Log in Explorer

At line 42203 was the code that I was working on, when the popup was triggered

Thank you. Could you also check if you have this issue: https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/LLM-2023. When you open the Manage Licenses dialog from AI Assistant tool window, do you see the IDE license get deactivated or removed?

I cannot open that link (same issue when I remove the period). But I think we are on the right track here, all of a sudden I have no valid licenses associated with my account :o Refreshing the list does not help and I get thrown out of Rider. When I restart and check my licenses through the Help-menu, they are there ofcourse

Sorry, it is an internal issue, I didn't see it initially. Ok, I have uploaded a video from the issue: https://imgur.com/a/bsaLU9Y.
Please check if you have the same issue.

Yes, it is very much comparible. The thing that bothers me though, is that I get the popup while I am working on things. Not having licenses from the AI screen is unexpected behaviour, but for me personally, that is not in the way, but it might be the root cause of what I am seeing on my system.

Is there any additional info I can supply to help you get to a solution to this problem?

Thanks!

Thank you. I have forwarded all the information to the team internally and we are investigating why the popup could appear in your case. Yes it looks like the underlying issue is the same as: https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/LLM-2023, however, as you mentioned another more important issue for you is the popup showing up regularly. I will update as soon as I have more information.

We have created an issue report for it on our issue tracker: https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/LLM-2230. We are still not able to reproduce the issue with popup appearing regularly, unfortunately. However, we are analyzing it further.
As a temporary workaround, you can try to disable AI Assistant plugin in Settings (`⌘ + ,` or `Ctrl + Alt + S`) > Plugins > Installed.

Sorry for the delay. The fix for this issue should be included in the next release - 2024.1. It is planned to be released at the end of this week.
