Tab not inserting autocomplete suggestion after upgrade to 2024.1.4
Hi, before upgrading to the latest version, the tab key would insert the highlighted autocomplete selection. After the upgrade I have to press Enter to insert the selection, i cannot find the place to rebind insert to tab. I'm using Emacs Keybindings as a base.
In the following Image, pressing tab would autocomplete, but after upgrade i need to press enter.
Does anyone know how to bind tab back to the previous bind? It's driving me silently crazy
Thank you!

There's something weird going on, when i try to create a new keybinding, i press to select the key for that new binding and it suddenly skips the key stage, if i press anything other than tab, it registers.
In the image, i pressed tab, and it instantly when to the Second Stroke checkbox instead of registering.
Hi!
To add Tab as a shortcut, click plus on the first stroke and choose Set Tab. Also, could you please check which keymap is selected?
Thanks!
Hi Alexandra,
I cannot find the Editor Action for auto completing, do you know the name of it? I've tried searching by key “Enter” but i cannot find it.
I also changed my keymap to the built-in Emacs keymap, in case there was a mistake on my custom binds. But the problem also persists on the basic emacs keybinding.
If i change the keymap to IntelliJ, the tab works as expected. Maybe the update changed something on the base Emacs Keymap?
Here's an image of my Keymap as requested.
Hi Jsanchezsilvera!
I'm sorry for misleading you. I've missed the main point of the problem. It is not possible to reassign these actions to other shortcuts. I reproduced the issue with TAB completion on the Emacs keymap in Rider 2024.1.4. However, it works fine in the latest Rider EAP. Could you please try it out and let me know if it works?
Thanks!
Hi Alexandra,
It does work in Rider EAP.
When will the new stable version come out?
Can i rollback to the previous version meanwhile?
Hi!
We expect to release the version with this fix in a couple of weeks. It is definitely possible to roll back to any version that works for you. Here are all the old installers.
I've also created an issue about this, so we'll try to add the fix in the next minor releases. Feel free to follow it for the updates.
