Possiblility of .NET 4.8 development on linux
Hello,
Really this is two questions:
- Is it possible to set up a .NET 4.8 compatible (including build functionality) workspace on Linux running Jetbrains Rider?
(if not) - Is it possible to set up a remote development IDE with Rider (headless?) on Windows and connect to that using Rider on a linux machine?
Appreciate any suggestions or pointers
Joel

Hello,
Thank you for reaching Rider Forum.
Unfortunately, both answers here are that it is not possible. As for the .NET 4.8 framework, this restriction is directly related to the Microsoft limitation. And a quick search has not given me a viable workaround.
As for the headless IDE for the Windows machine, at the moment remote development. for Rider it is available only for Linux instances. We have a feature request for that. Please subscribe to the issue by upvoting it.
Have a nice day!
