Aspire debugging does not allow breakpoint to be set

Hi,

I'm trying to debug my Aspire project but I'm having trouble adding breakpoints.

  • I start debugging for the Host project
  • The application start without any issue
  • I get the following error on breakpoint

 

I can debug without issue using VS Code.

Anything I can do about this?

Hello Martin, thank you for your message. In order to take a closer look at the issue, we will need some additional information. Please do the following:

  • Go to Help | Diagnostic tools | Choose Trace Scenarios;
  • Enable trace scenario for Debugger;
  • Reproduce the issue;
  • Collect the full log bundle via Help | Collect Logs and Diagnostic Data;
  • Disable the trace scenarios enabled;
  • Upload it to our server and share the ID.

Hello Martin, thanks for the log file. Could you please give us some more information?

  • Do you have the Aspire plugin installed?
  • What run configuration are you using? Please attach a screenshot illustrating the configuration used. The right configuration has the Aspire logo next to it.

You are, right. I was using the wrong configuration.

It's a bit confusing because the wrong configuration start when you select “Debug” in the project context menu. I did try to delete the wrong configuration but it get automatically re-created when I start debugging again using the same context menu.
