Attach to Unreal Editor doesn't work : The parameter is incorrect

I get “The parameter is incorrect” in the Debug window when I try to attach to Unreal Editor running instance from Rider.  Anyone know how to fix that?  Also - even when I do get the attach to work, I cannot set breakpoints in my game code.  How do I get this to work?

Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rider support.

Unfortunately, I was not able to reproduce the issue. Would you mind sharing additional information as described below?

  • What is your OS;
  • What is UE version? Is it built from sources or installed from Epic Games launcher?
  • Does a launching project under debug ("Debug" instead of “Run → Attach to process” work fine?
  • Enable Debugger trace scenario in Help | Diagnostic Tools | Choose Trace Scenarios;
  • Reproduce the issue;
  • Collect logs via Help | Collect Logs and Diagnostic Data;
  • Upload logs archive it to the Upload Service and let me know the Upload ID;
  • Share a screenshot that demonstrates the issue;

Have a nice day!
