Rider crashing iOS app in simulator

Hi, trying to run my MAUI app via Rider on iOS simulator. 

When I click the Debug button, the app launches in the iOS simulator and then immediately closes after the splash screen. When i open the app directly on the iOS simulator it launches fine.

When I debug through visual studio mac connected to the iOS simulator it works which is suggesting some issue with the Rider / iOS simulator connection.

How to resolve this? Currently evaluating Rider as a replacement for Visual Studio Mac but if i cannot run and debug on the iOS simulator then it is a non-starter for me.
