Older Rider versions and AI Assistant?
I'm curious. Is it possible to use the AI Assistant plugin with older versions of the Rider IDE? I find the new Rider IDE unproductive but I'd like to try out the AI Assistant. If so, what is the most recent version of Rider that still supported the older (IMHO better) IDE?

Regarding older version, do you mean the UI? We introduced the current UI several releases ago. It became default in 2024.2. If that is what you mean, you can get it back by installing the Classic UI plugin. So that you do not need to install an earlier version of Rider to get the old UI.
It's also possible to use AI Assistant in older Rider. The features of AI Assistant are provided via JetBrains AI Assistant plugin. So technically, you can install any version of this plugin as long as it's compatible with your Rider.
The compatible version mapping can be found in JetBrains AI Assistant plugin versions.
Note, an older version of plugin may lack some features. The old version of Rider can be downloaded from Other Versions - Rider
