Test Runner never stops execution
I have over the last year had continuous problems getting the test runner to stop the execution, even after all tests completed successfully. The only thing that works, is to kill the session, which makes things like “run until failure” impossible.
I have tried changing the Test Runner to both ‘Kill process' and ‘Ask what to do’, but that doesn’t alter anything. It's really strange, because once in a while (maybe once pr month) it starts to work, and then after a day or two, it just stops working again. It's the same issue with multiple solutions.
I'm running the newest Rider Build #RD-243.25659.34, built on February 27, 2025, on dotnet 9.0.200, using the latest MacOS, but the issue has been constant over many versions of both Rider and dotnet.
Restarting Rider doesn't help. Restarting the machine doesn't help.

Just to mention it, I have the test runner settings on kill right now.

Unfortunately, it looks like you have faced a known issue:RIDER-120443 Unit test session hangs and RIDER-120229 Tests stuck at pending state.. Please upvote them to indicate your interest and subscribe to further status updates.
Some users reported the issue was caused by AdGuard and BitDefender. While waiting for updates, you may check if you have such apps installed.
