uploading context to AI assistant stopped working

until recently it worked fine, but in rider's ai assistance i seem to no longer be able to upload .cs files to the AI assistant's context:

I have enough data in my quota (ai pro subscription) and this seems unaffected by which LLM model i choose. also it does seem to automatically upload my current file just fine, i just cant add new files (like i used to until recently)

Thank you for contacting JetBrains Support. I'm glad to work with you on this ticket.

It looks like you have faced a known issue:RIDER-122870 AI assistant add context file picker is broken. The fix is implemented in codebase and should be released soon. While waiting for the release, please check if the following workaround works for you:

  • Disable "Use in project view" option under Settings | Appearance & Behavior | File Colors
