AI Assistant comes to a grinding halt

I've been using the AI assistant with Codex (signed in with my OpenAI Account) successfully for weeks, however recently I have a recurring problem where the AI assistant will start to make changes, then slowly the UI comes to a grinding halt. You can first notice it with the UI loading indicators starting to slow down, then it just gets less and less responsive. I've tried leaving it along for a long time and funnily enough it does eventually make the code changes, but I get nothing from the chat log. 

When it happens CPU/Disk doesn't spike at all, but memory creeps up to ~5gb. I tried disabling solution wide analysis and it still happens.

I've tried to fully reinstall Rider, clearing appdata folders between installs. Using 2025.3.3
