Cross Platform . settings sync via settings repository?

Hi. I have installed the trial version of Rider on Windows and really liking it, nice work!
Now also installed on OSX and have setup a GitHub repo for my settings, Overwritten remote, then attached to that repo on OSX and selected Overwrite Local.
Expectation, Windows settings, including default window layout would now be applied to OSX install.
Reality, cannot see any setting that is actually in sync.
Have I misunderstood?

Unfortunately, this functionality has a problem at the moment. But we are working in this direction.
