File Layout

Answered

Where does Rider get its file layout rules from? In Resharper in VS it is Code Editing | C# | File Layout. Rider, when running a code cleanup, is destroying the layout I have set over in Visual Studio. It appeared to work prior to the 2018.1 update I applied this morning (I think, don't remember this being a problem until today).

I've looked high and low... :-/

File Layout patterns can be modified via XAML View (with completion and code highlightings) right in Rider’s Settings: Editor | Code Style | C# | File Layout tab. It will be available since Rider 2019.2.
UI is planned too (RIDER-29621).

This still hasn't been implemented and it's crazy frustrating. It's a feature that's been available in ReSharper for years now.

Hi Gwrodriguez

Unfortunately, you're right, this issue has not been scheduled for any release yet. Please accept our sincere apologies for the inconveniences. As a workaround, you can use ReSharper for creating file layouts or modify them in XAML View.

We would appreciate it if you would upvote it in order to bring increased awareness to the issue.
