Perforce connection issue after upgrade from 2018.1 to 2018.2

Answered

I upgraded from Rider 2018.1 to 2018.2 and now Perforce will not connect. My P4V client connects fine still, so the P4 server is fine. Rider gives me these errors automatically on startup:

8/29/2018
8:43 AM Perforce is offline: You can continue working and go online when the server is available
8:44 AM VCS Error: VcsException: Perforce integration is disabled

Testing the connection through the settings screen leads to an error shown in the image below. While the error seems to be descriptive, it isn't clear to me how to fix this. Or why the upgrade caused it.

Hello,

We have fixed this issue, and hope to release a bugfix build today. As a workaround - change the mappings in "File | Settings | Version control". Edit the <Project> entry and change it to the explicit path to the solution.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
