Enhance tooltips
Answered
Hi,
Seems to me that Rider's tooltips are poor compared to its competitor.
Let's take a look at VScode tooltips :
There is syntax color, a nice layout for description, parameters, etc. And as a bonus, ctrl + hover will display the implementation.
Now, Rider tooltip (note that I'm using a theme, but that does not change the tooltip) :

The lack of colors is a huge deal by itself.
I was wondering if any work in this direction was done at Jetbrains ?
Thanks a lot

i miss this really in rider.
This plugin for Resharper does a very good job. => https://github.com/MrJul/ReSharper.EnhancedTooltip
But it is currently not available for Rider :(
Hi all,
Thanks for your feedback! At the moment, one can call Quick Documentation action on any element to see more info (Ctrl+Shift+F1 in VS keymap or Ctrl+Q in ReSharper keymap). We are planning to improve Rider tooltips in the scope of RIDER-8444 and RIDER-5777. Please watch the YouTrack issues for further updates.
I'm trying to make the switch to Rider from VS (with Resharper). This, and to a lesser extent a lack of options for full in-editor documentation support, are some of the more painful missing features.
I'm primarily a Unity game/mixed media dev, and it's very difficult to make sense of the tooltips, especially when working with multiple overloads/generic args. I guess I hadn't realized how dependent I'd become on the Enhanced Tooltips Resharper plugin. I suppose this feature is technically a nice-to-have, but for me -- and I imagine others -- it's the equivalent of having no color scheme in the editor at all.
