Option to pause code analysis while running external tool

It would be fantastic to have an option to pause code analysis while running an external tool.  We have a custom build script which builds 100+ projects and other custom steps which I run as an external tool within Rider.  While it is running (building the source), Rider starts hogging the CPU as it detects the referenced output dlls changing.  Our system uses binary referencing instead of project referencing.
