Rider 2019.3: greenish-yellow text colour in Solution panel

Hi all,

A superficial question, but I use the Resharper Dark colour theme, which I love. However I've just upgraded from 2018.3 to 2019.3 and now the assemblies in the solution (and the breadcrumbs at the top of the window) are a greenish-yellow colour that I find yuck. However I can't seem to find anyway to change this, hoping someone knows!

Thanks for any help!

Hello Adam!

Thank you for contacting us.

Could you please attach a screenshot to ensure that it is not normal colors?

Please, also try to set and apply any light scheme and then go back to the ReSharper Dark. Will it help?

Hi Alexandra,

Changing between themes shows that actually that colour appears to be used in every single one?

Additionally (and more catastrophically) after changing between different themes, the Dark theme now uses different colours. What used to be neon pink is now purple, for example? Is there any way to return to the previous theme?

Edit: Having used this new colour scheme for awhile, I actually quite like it! But that dastardly mustard colour remains.

Thanks!

Hi Adam!

This definitely looks not like default ReSharper Dark :) Don't you use any theme plugins?

Could you please try the following: go to Preferences | Editor | Color Scheme | General, click on the Settings button and choose to Restore Defaults?  Please, let me know if this helps.

Hi Alexandra,

Thanks for the reply. I tried restoring defaults, however the colour still remains. I haven't manually installed any plugins at all, so I'm only using what Rider has installed itself.

Edit: I tried updating to the latest version, however the mustard colour remains.

Hi Adam,

I have some other questions:

- what is your OS?

- do you have this strange font color only in Solution Explorer?

- Do all Light themes display without problems?

- have you imported your settings from somewhere?

- do you use any IDEs on the same machine?

- do you have any settings synchronization?

Also, could you please export your corrupted theme in Preferences | Editor | Color Scheme | General | Export and attach it here or create a new support request via Help | Contact support with answers and your file. Thank you in advance!

Hi Alexandra,

- I am on Windows 10.

- The colour issue is in the Solution Explorer and the breadcrumbs at the top.

- The light themes also seem to have the colour, as shown in the images I attached earlier.

- I haven't imported settings from anywhere (save for older versions of Rider).

- No other IDEs (though I think I have Visual Studio installed, so Rider works with Unity.)

- I haven't manually configured any settings synchronisation I don't believe, so only whatever's built in.

- Here is the exported file: https://www.dropbox.com/s/0m4e9r2sq07xyf8/Rider%20Dark.icls?dl=0

Thanks!

Thank you, Adam.

Could you please check if the colors are the same when you create a new solution? Thank you.

Hi Alexandra,

In a new solution the colour doesn't appear to be there! Might not be definitive, but the single-entry breadcrumb and empty solution area are both white!

Thank you, that's it!

This color says that you somehow add all solution files in .gitignore by mistake. Could you please check it and remove it if necessary?

Hi Alexandra,

Here is my .gitignore: https://hastebin.com/eboxucocon.shell

I haven't updated this in a very long time though. Which lines specifically are the problem?

Hi Adam.

It seems like all .cproj and .sln files are added to ignore. Do you use any VCS for this project? You can remove these lines to track changes in .cproj and .sln files again. The color will also change.

Also, could you please extend any project and check the color of the files? They should be normal, I suppose.

Hi Alexandra Guk, apologies for such a delayed response!

The issue is I don't want to track the .cproj or .sln files. Is there a way to modify this colour at all?

What do you mean by "extend any project"?

Thanks for your help!

Hi Adam!

You can change File status colours in File | Settings | Version Control | File Status Colors (in your case - ignored files). Also, you can disable special colour for ignored files.

So, if you don't want to track these files and only want to change the colour, you don't need to do anything else. Sorry that it took a lot of time to find out the clue for your request.

Have a good day!
