Where is the Console Output when Profiling?

Answered

I'm using the built-in Performance Profiler in Rider 2019.3, and for the life of me I can't find the stdout/console output of the program that's being profiled. Where is it? Sorry for the silly question, but I can't find it anywhere!

Hello Andrew,

Do I understand correctly that you are running some console application? If you Run it and then attach to process with Profiling then console output should be in Run window. If you start profiling configuration, then the output should be redirected to the external console. Could you please check if it works for you?

Here's a more careful description:

1. Open a console project in Rider, one that has a long running time to outputs to stdout.

2. Click the Profile using Sampling launch button.

3. One you do that it will open the Performance Profiler tab.

Now my question is, if I want to see the stdout of the process being profiled, where do I look? I've looked in Run and Debug panes, but neither have the logs for this process.

These are the kinds of logs I'm hoping to find:

Thanks.

Thank you for clarification. Could you please collect the logs via Help | Compress Logs and Show in Finder and attach them here or with a new issue on our bug tracker so we could know the exact information about your environment and reproduce it in our lab. Thank you in advance!

Olga Diakonova,

The issue I submitted was closed as "Answered", but following the advice in the issue did not fix my problem.
