Rider turns off analyser when selecting "Highlight: Syntax". How do I fix it?

This is the correct behaviour: this settings indeed allows you to turn off analyzer and left the only syntax highlighting in a file. As you can see on your first screenshot syntax keywords still highlighted. You can find more details about it in our online help here and here.
