How to change color in popups?

Answered

I'm using a dark color scheme for rider, but a self customized light scheme for the editor. When i hover over some elements in the editor, the documentaion popup looks like this:

Is there a chance to change the colors of the unreadable parts?

Hi Andreas!

First please check background colours in `File | Settings | Editor | Color Scheme | General => Popus and Hints' section. Probably, one of them set to black.

If this will not help, in Rider internal mode you can customize editor tabs colors, font size and many others. With Find Action dialogue open LaF Defaults and manage the necessary parameters. You can find more details in this article.

Please check the color of one of the following parameters: "HelpTooltip. Background", "ToolTip.Background" and "ParameterInfo.background".

Also, the following links about customized color schemes could be helpful for you:

Hope it helps. If you have other questions, do not hesitate to ask.

Hello Alexandra,

thank you for the hints. I tried to set the colors you mentioned (and some more) in the LaF-Defaults, but it has no effect.

But what i see is, that the colors of the method signature seems to correspond to the syntax colors. When i select for example "Rider Dark" in "Appearance" and "Color Scheme" the colors in the documentation popup are the same as in the editor. But when i select a dark theme in "Appearance" and a light theme in "Color Scheme" the documentation popup still uses the dark theme.

Best Regards

Andreas,

could you please tell me what is you Rider version? I should double-check if this is an issue or as designed. Thanks!

Andreas,

thank you for the details. Unfortunately, it seems like this element relates to the main `Appearance` theme and now can't be customized. However, we have a feature request for improving this popup: RIDER-36614. We would appreciate it if you vote the issue.

Should you have any other questions, please, let us know.
