Rider simply not starting

Hey there!
I've reinstalled my computer recently and obviously had to reinstall my JetBrains tools again as well. Everything is working just fine so far except for Rider not starting at all. I already checked the log folder but the corresponding log files (stderr, stdout) are both empty on every start. The toolbox itself just says "versionXXX opening.." but stops right after, the process never shows up in my processes nor anywhere else. I already tried different versions and reinstalled Rider itself a few times, I obviously also tried to restart my computer :-D
If I try to start Rider myself without the toolbox I simply get a Windows application error (0xc00000005)
Any suggestions on how to fix this? :s

Thank you for contacting us. It seems like you have faced a known problem: IDEABKL-7997. We're sorry for that! The issue is to be fixed as part of IDEA-205244. No ETA yet, but there is a workaround:

This also happened to me on my mac. I found a workaround: I went into toolbox, clicked on the three dots next to rider and selected settings. On the settings tab I selected “show” beneath the install path which opened the finder with all installed jetbrains apps and I started rider from there with a right click and open. That worked.
