Visual Assist Color Scheme not applied to files which are read-only from perforce

I'm using both git and perforce in my project and I notice that if a file is *NOT* checked out in perforce, the IDE is not applying the visual assist coloring scheme, but the moment I check out the file or remove the read only flag, it will start working right away. This is in the latest version of Rider
