Return back to previous editor after finishing with create member action.

Hi,

Is it possible to configure Rider so that after I complete Create member action (like Create enum member, Create property maybe Create method) I return back to the place where I invoked this action. What I often do is - I am implementing a method, I "use" non-existant property or enum member, invoke action, fill in all placeholders and then I expect to go back to the method I was working on.

Hi Marius Klimantavicius

Rider indeed has this feature. However, unfortunately, it doesn't work right now. Here is an issue about this: RIDER-63546. Feel free to follow it to be notified about the fix.

Should you have any other questions, let us know. Have a nice day!

I don't think that's the same feature that I want - as far as I understand the issue is about "Navigate -> Last Edit Location". What I am looking for is to return back to original editing document immediately after I've finished filling in placeholders. Or at least just create members *without* navigating to the target file.

Hi Marius Klimantavicius

Thank you for the details. Unfortunately at this time, we do not have such a tool. While there are a few methods to introduce feature requests, I think your best choice here would be to use our tracker here and submit a request. On the tracker, others can see your request and add their vote if they find such a tool would be useful, which helps our team to better understand which features/tools our users are eager for. I believe this can help give the best visibility for your request.

Let me know if there is anything else I could help you with. Have a great day!
