I'm having an issue where I can't build C++ code because Rider complains it can't open the project DLL file.

I'm not sure if anyone can help, I'm at a loss.

Error log: "LNK1104: cannot open file 'D:\DummyUnrealProjects\CppProjects\Name\Binaries\Win64\UnrealEditor-Name.dll'" The file has all the permissions I can give to it. Running Rider or Unreal as Administrator doesn't fix it. I'm having to delete the DLL, have it being recreated and then lets me build once and it's back to the same error.

Running stackoverflow shows it's pulling the dll file from Unreal too.

I also got this error in Rider, along with the "Cannot open file":

Microsoft.MakeFile.targets(44, 5): [MSB3073] The command ""C:\Program Files\Epic Games\UE_5.0\Engine\Build\BatchFiles\Build.bat" NameEditor Win64 Development -Project="D:\DummyUnrealProjects\CppProjects\CryptRaider\Name.uproject" -WaitMutex -FromMsBuild" exited with code 6.

Does anyone else have this issue?
Closing the editor before compiling does work but it's not ideal for editing code

Any help is appreciated!

Hello Sumo Digital Ltd,

This is a known issue with Hot Reload in the current version of UE5. I suggest enabling Live Coding or compiling from the Unreal Editor instead. You can find more information in this issue: https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/RIDER-76226

Let me know if you encounter any issues.
