In the meanwhile, I'm just gonna turn off the AI assistant all the way.  I had hoped that the sidebar, in edit mode would work in much the way that Cursor works, where I can use it when I want some...

That was way harder to find than I'd have liked!  Maybe put the put a dock option somewhere on the floating window
