Double-click spanning multiple lines selects words/characters
I will often double click a word to select the whole thing to copy or start typing over and replacing it. Recently I have noticed this behavior in unexpected places (Ex: Click at the end of a line and press "enter" to insert a new line only to find the return replaced the character at the end of the previous line).
I believe I have pinpointed the problem. A double click is registered even if the clicks are at two different locations. I have recorded a video of it here:
I double click the word on each line to highlight the whole word (expected functionality). Then I single click the end of each line to put the cursor at the end (expected functionality). Then I click at the end of the first line and quickly click the end of the second line. The word on the second line is selected (unexpected behavior).
It doesn't even need to be a very quick double-click .. it seems that as long as you click twice in about half a second. I seem to do this VERY often.

Hi,
Could you please clarify your Rider version? Does it happen only in cs files with comments? Have you tried the latest Rider version?
Unfortunately, I did not succeed in reproducing this behaviour on the latest Rider version.
Sorry about this, I thought I had been keeping my Rider up to date but I was WAY outdated! I updated to 2023.2 and confirmed the problem no longer exists. Thanks!

TLDR: Windows Compatibility fixed my problem
I had close to this problem. I would click a line and it processed as if I double clicked and sometimes triple click. It would either the whole word on that line or the whole line itself. I would delete braces and whole lines because of it. I figured it was double clicking, because i can repeat the weird behavior by double clicking, pictured below. This was on the 2023 and was also in 2024.1.1. I factory reset, reinstalled and nothing seemed to work. A friend of mine didn't have a problem so he brought up its a windows 11 thing, because i am 11. I ran rider in compatibility mode windows 8 from Windows properties on Rider. I was saddened to know that was the problem. Thankfully enough when i brought it out of Compatibility mode my problem was resolved. It probably had something to do with registry or something.
