Instead of New Features, How About Improving Existing Features. Hint, Hot Reload!
I've been a fan of Jetbrains. I'm a developer, probably like the other 99.9% of people that own a license to Rider. I made the switch from Visual Studio because I was annoyed with Microsoft refusing to add local history or comparing files to others. I personally feel that Visual Studio and especially Visual Studio Code are very overrated.
The Rider team seems to have a lot of energy as far as creating new features, but I'm starting to think that they may need to not worry about other features until other important things work.
I really want to create a trading platform, but that task will be very difficult with Rider.
I want to use SASS for my styling. This will be a big project, so I want to start off the right way, using SASS. Rider hot reload is not reliable at all, especially if the styling is in a separate file, such as Filename.razor.css or Filename.razor.scss.
So obviously, there's still a problem with web development. What about desktop with MAUI?
Well, from what I heard, hot reload only works for mobile in debug mode. And that doesn't work all that great either.
Right now, Rider is not even usable, and I don't know if the Rider team really understand the gravity of this situation.
Jetbrains, please do better.
