Find In Files Directory Scope Not Working

When I type in a string in Find In Files and push the Directory toggle button, I intermittently get matches that are not under that directory. This is a recent problem that popped up in 2023.2.3. It seems like a bug, but is there anything I could be doing to cause this? I've done the usual clear the caches and restart bit, but that hasn't fixed it, and I'm doubtful if I could make a clear repro case for this as I've never seen it before.

It sounds weird. We are sorry to hear that you have run into such a problem. Regrettably, I was not able to reproduce it.

Would you mind double-checking what Rider version you have installed? Please select Help | About. There will be the version number. Does the issue persist in Rider 2023.3.2?

Also, I would appreciate it if you could share additional information as described below:

  • A screencast that demonstrates the issue;
  • Rider logs with SearchAndNavigation trace scenario enabled:
    • Enable the trace scenario via Help | Diagnostic Tool | Choose Trace Scenario;
    • Reproduce the issue;
    • Collect logs via Help | Collect Logs;
    • Disable the trace scenario enabled;
  • Upload screencast and generated archive to the Upload service and let me know the Upload ID.
