dotTrace is intended to be run as a CLI tool inside a docker container. Profiling Application in Docker Container article describes how you can deploy dotTrace to a container and set the environment up.
Currently, Rider does not have a built-in integration for dotTrace instances running in a docker container. However, you can open snapshots in Rider if you prefer not to use dotTrace to view snapshots.
To open a snapshot in Rider, open the dotTrace tool window (View→Tool Windows→dotTrace) and use Open Snapshot:
