Show emulator window?

In the latest Rider (2025.2.2.1, macOS 15.7.1), I had an Android emulator running in a separate window, and I closed that window expecting the emulator to shut down. But it didn't. I started a new debug session, expecting the emulator to startup, but it seems to be active still, however I cannot find a menu option to reopen the emulator window.

Restarting Rider did not help. The emulator is still running - without a window. I see in Activity Monitor the ‘qemu-system-aarch64’ running, but I cannot switch to it, because it has now window.

So, how do I reopen the emulator window while it is still running?

Thanks,

Marc

Hello Marc Vos ,

Could you please try killing the stuck emulator process and then try running the project again? will the issue reproduce after that?

Looking forward to hearing from you soon.

I'm on vacation now, I'll try to test it the coming week.

Ok, still the same with the latest update.

I close the window ‘Running Devices’ that runs the emulator, but the emulator does not quit also.

And I found no way to get that window back.

So, I have to quit the emulator itself first, before I can close that Rider window.

After searching all UI, I found the item under ‘View → Tool Windows’ and/or a button somewhere far right in a vertical toolbar.

Hello Marc Vos ,

Could you please update the Android plugin to the current version through Settings > Plugins? Then please reproduce the issue.

If that is not helping, please collect logs from Help > Collect Logs and Diagnostic Data and upload them to our storage at https://uploads.jetbrains.com/ and share the ID.

Hi Anna, as I wrote, I found the button to hide/show that tool window. So my issue has been resolved.
