JetBrains AI credits with ChatGPT account

TL;DR → Do JetBrains AI credits go down if you use the Codex model with your own ChatGPT account

I switched Junie to use GPT-5.2-codex as the model in the Junie settings. In the settings for AI Assistant | Account, I also logged into my ChatGPT account to link it (I have a ChatGPT Pro subscription). I noticed today that my AI credits in AI Assistant have gone down compared to this morning. I checked after I made the change and then again now a few hours later. I generally use Junie in Agent mode. Is this to be expected? I assumed if I use my ChatGPT account, it wouldn't affect my JetBrains AI credits. (I have an AI Pro account via JetBrains All Products Pack.)

I did notice I was on Rider 2025.3.1 and I just updated to the latest now (2025.3.2). Not sure if that matters.

The same thing happened to me.

Did some informal testing. Yesterday I used AI Assistant with Codex (gpt-5.2-codex (medium)) all day and my credits didn't go down. Today I used Junie with GPT-5.2-codex as the model in Settings and my credits dropped a bit. So it seems like AI Assistant doesn't affect your credits if you use your own ChatGPT account but Junie does.

Hi there, thank you for bringing this to our notice. To investigate this further, I would request that you open a ticket with our support team: https://intellij-support.jetbrains.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=66731&product=ai_assistan and share some logs in the ticket so we can assist you further.

Steps to follow:
1. Go to Help | Diagnostic Tools | Debug Log Settings
2. Add the following lines to the textbox that appears:
3. com.intellij.ml.llm
4. com.intellij.util.io.HttpRequests
5. com.intellij.util.proxy.CommonProxy
6. com.intellij.ml.llm.agents.codex

1. Restart the IDE
2. Reproduce the issue
3. Use Help | Collect Logs and Diagnostic Data to generate the archive with logs

Submit the log: https://uploads.jetbrains.com/

The link to open a ticket took me to a slack channel I don't have access to. Also, I don't see Debug Log Settings as an option under Help | Diagnostic Tools. (See image below; note: I'm in Rider) Also, the reproduction should be easy enough: Log into ChatGPT and use Junie with ChatGPT-5.2-codex, so no need to wait on me. I'll help to some extent but not with a lot of back and forth as I have a work-around already (use AI Assistant).
