TFS Plugin (Not GIT) - No Changes Detected message

Answered

I have just installed the latest version of Rider on my mac.  I have connected to a TFS server, then from the start screen opened a solution from Source Control.

The process created a TFS workspace and downloade all the files - but when I change a file - the select "Commit" from VCS->VCS Operations Popup > Commit I get the message  "Nothing to Commit => No Changes Detected".

I have changed a filethat is under source control and saved it.

Love rider but this is keeping me in Visual Studio :-(

Any Ideas?

Hi Ashley!

Thank you for contacting us.

Could you please clarify which plugin you use ("Preferences | Plugins | Installed")? I'm asking because there are two ones (https://plugins.jetbrains.com/plugin/4578-tfs and https://plugins.jetbrains.com/plugin/7981-visual-studio-team-services). JetBrains provides the first plugin, and Microsoft develops the second one.

Kind regards,

Sofia

Looks like its the microsoft one.  I'll install the jetbrains one and see if that works better

So I have switched to the Jetbrains TFS plugin and that seems to identify local chnages.  However, this plugin does not seem to support downloading shelf sets from the TFS server.

I have managed to create a local shelf set within rider and that has seemed to bring up the "Shelf" tab on the version control window but it does not seem to be able to see server shelf sets.  The whole point of shelf sets is to safely save code to the server!

Using Rider 2019.2.1 and TFS plugin from Jetbrains I cannot get Rider to detect any changes I make to any files. Any idea ?

Hello, Morten.

This is a known issue in TFS Integration plugin. Could you please try Rider 2019.2.2 should contain the fix for it. Please give it a try and let me know if it is still an issue.

Kind regards,

Sofya
