ApplyButton in SettingsDialog

Answered

Hello. I really wish there was an "Apply"-Button in the Settings Dialog. By now there is only a "Save" Button which applies the settings and closes the dialog, and the "Cancel" Button which also closes the dialog. If I want to try out some new Settings ( mainly those which change the appearance ) , for example fontsize , then I have to repeatedly click save, reopen the settings window, adjust , click save, reopen the settings..... until I find out my desired values and am happy with the results. I wish I could just hit apply and see the changes immediately without auto-closing the settings-window so that I am forced to reopen it again if I want to keep on exploring.

Thank you very much.

Best Regards, David.

Hi David,

Thanks for your feedback! Implementing an Apply button is not that easy due to the complicated Rider settings. Part of them is derived from IntelliJ, part of them is derived from ReSharper - these kinds of settings are stored in completely different ways. Anyway, please upvote the corresponding feature request: https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/RIDER-15054. Hopefully, we will be able to implement this functionality in future versions.
