Project-Wide C# / Monobehaviour File Template

Answered

This must be documented someplace but I can't seem to find it.

How do I override the file templates on a per-project basis?

The documentation seems to suggest changed file templates will be saved in .idea/fileTemplates, but when I save the settings using "Solution team-shared" I can't find anything at that location. I can't even find where they are being saved - there doesn't appear to be a fileTemplates folder under  ~/.Rider2018.2/config either.

I'm running Windows 10 and Rider2018.2

Hello Colin!

Thank you for the question.

Rider has two different settings types. The first type is directory-based. Another type is  ReSharper settings which are layer-based.

"File | Settings | Editor | File Templates | Unity" settings are layer-based. When you use team-shared layer the corresponding settings file <SolutionName>.sln.DotSettings is saved in the solution folder.

Please, read here for more information.

If you have any question, please let me know.

Kind regards,

Sofia.
