Rider logs take up too much space

Answered

I'm running out of disk space on my SSD. When I started looking for reasons I found that Rider writes too much logs. Just look at this:

I haven't found a way to disable writing logs to text files completely (I just don't need them at all) or at lease clear this folder once in a while automatically. So my question is there a way to do it in Rider or do I have to write my own tool for it? I don't want to clear these manually everytime

Thanks!

Hey!

It seems that debugger trace mode is enabled in  "Help | Trace scenarios (LOGS)". Please, try disabling it and let me know about the results.

Hey Sofya!

There is absolutely nothing checked in that window

Could you please try to upgrade Rider? I've noticed that you are using 2018.2

In 2018.3 we fixed the problem with keeping logs. At the moment (since 2018.3) all logs will be removed if they are older than three days.

Ok. I have updated rider to the latest version just yesterday, so I'll check if the newest one still writes logs as soon as I can :)

I've just checked the logs for the latest version. They are also there. The difference is that now they're placed in separate folders.

About 40Mb of text logs for a day and a half, even though I almost haven't used Rider these days. And I don't see any way to disable them

Hey!

Thanks for the information!

Unfortunately, there is no way to disable logging in Rider debugger and all Rider.

Could you please share that logs? We will investigate them.

You can share logs via https://uploads.services.jetbrains.com or via creating a new Support Request.
