File variables showing red but no errors - please help

 

Using Rider 2019.3.4 

Unity : 2019.2.21

Hi,

Please try the following steps:

1. Remove from your <project>/Assets/Plugins/Editor folder an old JetBrains.Rider.Unity.Editor plugin dll;

2. Install Rider Editor package (in Unity go to the menu `Window | Package Manager`, find and install Jetbrains Rider Editor package);

3. Invalidate caches in Rider (menu `File | Invalidate caches / restart -> Invalidate and Restart`);

4. If nothing helps, upgrade Rider up to the latest release 2020.2.4.

 

Please let me know about the results.

Thank you for checking and letting me know about the results.

Could you please create a bug report on https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issues/RIDER, then perform the following:

- enable tracing "Unity" (in menu Help | Diagnostic Tools | Choose Trace Scenarios);

- reproduce this issue again (reopen your project in Rider);

- collect all the logs (Help | Collect Logs) and attach the archive to the issue on youtrack;

- disable tracing;

- make a screen video demonstrating this issue and share it on youtrack ticket;

- having a repro project would be perfect.

Could you please share a screenshot of `Preferences | Build, Execution, Deployment | Toolset and Build` settings window, a screenshot of the full Rider window so that all the UI elements are visible. Also, plese collect and share all the Rider's logs collected via `Help | Collect logs` action. You can submit all the information requested above via our jetbrains.uploads.com service and let me know the exact UploadID, or file a new support request via the action in Rider `Help | Contact Support` where one can attach files.
