New Rider UI
I tried the new Rider UI. Even it's in a preview stage, in sum it's quite bulky, slow and buggy. May I forgot some hidden switches to set, but the overall experience is worse than before.
Few questions I have:
- The new Version does not show any button to build the solution. Even the build panel only appears after a build has been triggered and is hidden after a while. The "..." menu allows making several kinds of panels visible, such as NuGet, Endpoints, ... but not the build panel.
- The new blue run/debug element is quite bulky and unhandy. The name of the launch settings is not readable. Way to small in width. The dropdown only shows some "recent" launch configurations. It's definitely not was I have used last. With 30+ launch configurations, it's cumbersome to select every single one in a new configuration menu
- Usually the colored bars behind the scroll-bar displays errors, suggestions, ... But if I scroll up and down, it's just random what really gets displayed. Often, bars only appears if my scroll position is on spot. But den I cannot hover over the bar to see the issue or suggestion as the scrollbar takes focus.
- Default key bindings seems to have changed or removed for some actions.
- The editor does not show any issues with red, yellow or green lines. It has been displayed by default. Together with the buggy scroll-bar indicators, just not useable.
- My overall experience with the new UI is way worse than with the old one. Everything feels bulky and takes a lot of space for nothing. And where space is desired, it's not available.
- On my MacOS M1 Max the editor, intelli-sense, ... feels really slow. No instant actions are possible.

> The new Version does not show any button to build the solution.
This will be [fixed](https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/RIDER-83004/No-Edit-Solution-Configuration-and-Build-button-in-new-UI) in the next Release.
>The new blue run/debug element is quite bulky and unhandy.
We are aware of this problem and have a [feature request](https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/IDEA-294724/Run-widget-show-all-run-configurations-by-default) for improving the UI.
> Default key bindings seems to have changed or removed for some actions.
Which keymap do you use?
>Everything feels bulky and takes a lot of space for nothing. And where space is desired, it's not available.
We are also working on the [compact mode](https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/IDEA-298485) for the new UI. I hope it will fir better.
The other points look like some kind of a performance issue. Please let me know if you have time for investigation. We'll ask for more details.
Have a great day!
