Feature Request: Highlight the file I have open and in focus in the Solution Explorer

Answered

I love the product, just a simple feature request.

I have a file open that I'm editing and perhaps I change the file's primary class name, I then want to also change the name of the file on disk to match. However, it talks me a little time to locate that file in the Rider solution explorer. Yes, I can search at the top, but I was thinking it would be much easier if Ride simply highlighted in the Solution explore tree the file I currently have in focus.

Anyway, just an idea.

Hello Angusbmillar,

Thank you for contacting Rider support.

Please try the "Select Opened File" action. You can acces it in solution explorer or via shortcut that can be changed in File | Settings | Keymap if you desire.

Hope it helps. Have a nice day!

Thank you, Dmitry, that certainly does do what I want.

I should have dug deeper.

You can also set this as the default behaviour when files are opened:

“Select Opened File” is broken in Unity projects at the moment. It looks like it's trying to open up the Assembly section on the left hand pane, which is empty and incorrect

Jon, would you mind recording a short video demonstrating this issue in your environment and filing a new issue on the tracker via Help→Report a Bug

Please send us your Rider logs when promoted (see the screenshot below) and attach the video to the newly created issue.
